Scan using canon TS8320 printer

Using your Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer, you can scan various media and save them to your desktop computer or laptop, which is connected to the printer. To scan a document on the Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer, use the IJ Scan Utility on your Windows computer. The IJ Scan Utility provides various modes of scanning.

Carry out the below guidelines to scan any document from your Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer, using the Auto scan mode of the IJ Scan Utility.

Loading Original Document:

Follow the steps below to load the original document to begin the scan using canon TS8320 printer.

  • Turn on your Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer.
  • Check whether the printer is correctly connected to your computer.
  • Open the document cover at the top of the Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer.
  • Place the original document on the platen with the side to be scanned facing down.
  • Make sure that you do not place the document over the striped edges, as this area cannot be scanned.
  • Gently close the document cover of the printer.

Note: Make sure that the weight of the original document placed on the platen is not more than 4.4 lb. Also, do not press the original document on the platen.

Once you finish loading the original document to be scanned, proceed with scanning the document using the Auto scan mode of the IJ Scan Utility. Before you begin to scan using the IJ Scan Utility, check the Save Settings for the Auto scan mode of the IJ Scan Utility.

Auto Scan mode Save Settings in the IJ Scan Utility:

  • On your Windows computer, click the Start menu.
  • Type IJ Scan Utility in the search field and click Search.
  • Double-click the IJ Scan Utility icon and launch it.
  • In the Product Name field, check whether the printer shown is your printer. If not, select your printer model from the drop-down list.
  • Now, click the Settings button at the bottom of the IJ Scan Utility Window.
  • In the Setting (Auto Scan) Window, click on the scanning from a Computer tab.
  • Then, select the Auto Scan tab.
  • In the Save Settings section, set the File Name and save in the appropriate field.
  • Now, click on the OK button at the bottom. This will take you back to the IJ Scan Utility Window.

Scan the document using Auto scan mode:

  • Once you have placed your original document on the platen and have set the location to save the scanned document on your Windows computer, initiate the scan.
  • In the IJ Scan Utility window, click on the Auto button, which is the first button.
  • Now, the scanning process will begin. Once the scanning is completed, you can access the scanned document from the location you specified in the Auto scan settings.
  • Once you finish the scan, remove the original document from the platen on your Canon PIXMA TS8320 printer.
